dogs registered with the LKF Print E-mail

LKF is the only organisation in Latvia representing the cynology of Latvia in the FCI, the biggest dog breeder organisation in the world. LKF issued pedigrees are recognised in more than 80 countries of the world.

LKF is the only dog breeder organisation in Latvia imposing compulsory health checks (eye diseases, hip dysplasia) on dogs used in breeding to prevent unhealthy animals from breeding and ensure that puppies are in good health.

Only the dogs registered with the LKF may participate in various international shows organised by the leading global cynology organisations, like FCI registered clubs, American Kennel Club and The Kennel Club (UK). Unfortunately, many potential dog owners living in Latvia as well as breeders from other countries selling their puppies to Latvia very often are unaware that there are other organisations besides the LKF in Latvia, which have nothing to do with the FCI. LKF is the only organisation which is a member of the FCI in Latvia. That means that the dogs registered with any other organisations are not allowed to participate in any LKF/FCI activities and their pedigrees are not acknowleged by the LKF/FCI.

Problems may arise also for dogs and dog owners posessing FCI-recognised pedigrees, who support the clubs outside the FCI system out of their ignorance or lack of information by participating at their shows or in breeding, as they can be expelled from further participation in the LKF/FCI!

Therefore, join us and:

you will get new friends and confederates who can be your companions when travelling to various countries to participate at dog shows world-wide;
